On 17th April 2023, the St. Lucia Social Development Fund (SSDF) and the Water and Sewerage Company Inc. (WASCO) signed a contract for the installation of a 100,000-gallon Glass-Fused Bolted Steel Tank in Victoria, Choiseul. The new water tank will replace the existing 50,000-gallon ruble wall water tank and it will enable residents to have a consistent supply of potable water compared to the one day per week supply currently being experienced by residents. The project is financed by the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) and the Government of Saint Lucia through the Basic Needs Trust Fund Tenth Programme in the amount of $617,579.45 Eastern Caribbean Dollars. The following communities will benefit from this water project: Morne Jacques, Belle Vue, Dacretin, Fond Cocoa, Ravineau, Mongouge, Martin, 4” distribution pipeline Behind Kell, Ponyon, Dierre Morne, Franciou, Bois Den and La Maze.
