The Civil Service Association (CSA) who represented the Poverty Reduction Fund (PRF) and their workers has now signed a new collective agreement with the St. Lucia Social Development Fund (SSDF). The SSDF is an amalgamation of the PRF and the Basic Needs Trust Fund. SSDF Executive Director – Joachim Henry says this will be SSDF’s first collective agreement.
Henry says the agreement is similar to the previous one with the PRF – which he also headed. The new agreement also contains a few minor changes aimed at improving working conditions. CSA Assistant General-Secretary – Lilia August says the Union hopes the agreement will improve productivity since the negotiation was conducted in good spirit. The collective agreement between the SSDF and the CSA was witnessed by the Labour Commissioner. It took place at the Labour Department in Sans Souci.
