The St.Lucia Social Development Fund is funded by soft loans and grants from regional and international funding agencies. The SSDF is funded by four main organization/institutions:
- The Caribbean Development Bank (CDB):through its continuing BNTF program
- The European Union
- The Government of St.Lucia (GOSL) and
- The Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) through the CDB.
Through their unwavering support for the SSDF (previously PRF and BNTF) they have shown their persistent in fulfilling their own mandates in as far as committing to reduction of poverty through financial and moral support in education, health, and socio-economic programs designed at improving the lot of the indigent in lesser developed countries.
