On Tuesday, June 25th, 2019, the Saint Lucia Social Development Fund (SSDF) through the Basic Needs Trust Fund (BNTF) 9th Programme, signed a contract with the Water and Sewerage Company Inc. (WASCO) in the amount of East Caribbean Nine hundred and seventy-six thousand, two hundred and eight dollars and sixty-six cents (EC$976,208.66) towards the execution of works for the La Bourne Water Upgrade. The main component of the sub-project include the laying of 206km, (6758ft) of 4’ pipes, associated ancillary fixtures and road reinstatement.
The Consultant assigned to the sub-project is Alpha Engineering & Design (2012) Ltd. Works are expected to begin on July 2nd, 2019 for a period of five (5) months.
As a major stakeholder to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s), Saint Lucia through the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) grant funding is expanding and improving access to safe water and sanitation to vulnerable communities across St Lucia.
